Does innovation come from the brain or the heart?
Plenty of coaches, neuroscientists, and business experts have called the brain “the technology of our era”. Yes we still travel to space. Yes, Tesla, with Musk at the helm, is still trying to figure out sustainable power sources. Yes, we have the world at our fingertips and then some. But the one technology we all want to hack, across multiple generations, is the brain. This is why we’ve witnessed such a massive jump in neuro-everything, and I believe this is only the beginning.
Neverending Complexities
For every synapse, process, and part of the brain we understand, there seems to be two we don’t. And while we are closer than ever before to understanding the why, and the how, and the when… we’re actually discovering something even more fascinating, and it has nothing to do with the brain specifically. In fact, if we want to deeply understand the seemingly never ending complexities of the brain, we might have to look other places, and this counterintuitive point has been holding us up.
What Drives Innovation?
Melissa Binkley, Creator and Founder of The Intuitive Intelligence Academy, is on a mission to raise the vibration of one billion people and heal trauma through her humanitarian work, but that’s not necessarily why I sat down with her. My goal was to find out what is actually driving innovation, how we- as a collective whole can tap into this process (whatever it may be), and what that has the potential to change in the world of products, creatives, and business.
Intuitive intelligence
Everybody wants to know how the brain functions, because we can make the most of that functionality to be more successful, and creative, and intuitive. Health coaching showed Binkley that there was an entirely deeper world of “stuff” that needed to be addressed, that wasn’t just the body, or the mindset, or the health that most people were looking at. When she delved into quantum physics and neuroscience, that deeper world began to unfold for her.
Here are 3 things you should know about Intuitive Intelligence:
-
Intuitive Intelligence reflects a person’s ability to connect with the heart, the collective conscious, and the higher self and how that improves performance, healing trauma and manifesting the future.
-
By using Intuitive Intelligence and connecting to the Field (that deeper world) we can facilitate thinking, understand meanings, create profound change, heal patterns and trauma, and connect to the world.
-
There is fascinating research that is beginning to uncover the nature and functioning of intuition, heart intelligence and the Field as a way for complete transformation.
Authenticity & Transparency
I’ve been talking a lot about blockchain technology and how the transparency of this technology will be one of the major driving factors in its success. I believe the reason we are all seeking a deeper neurological understanding of life, is because you can’t fake that, and we are so desperately seeking this authenticity and transparency, personally yes, but also in innovation and business. And everyday, I am reading more and more about what creates the most efficient ecosystem for innovation to thrive, and neuroscience is only the beginning.
As we peel back the layers, as Binkley points out in her work, we can watch the immensely connected, overwhelmingly fascinating process that takes place within human beings. The very same process that allows us to heal and vibrate at a higher level, also creates space for innovation and lights paths into the future.
Heart + Brain Coherence
Where neuroscience has kickstarted our journey into the processes of the brain, Intuitive Intelligence takes us from that starting point, on a path to the heart, into healing, and to the starting line of innovation. It is at that starting line, where we can clearly identify how creative energy can be boosted through learning to vibrate with higher energy emotions, all originating in the heart. Simply put, in order to change the chemicals the brain is creating (which in turn creates the reality we see and experience) we must start with the heart.
Revolutions Aplenty
We are in the midst of a new industrial revolution, and Binkley says we are also in the midst of another kind of revolution as well. She calls this a conscious revolution, where innovative brain science, heart intelligence, psychology, quantum mechanics, ancient wisdom traditions, and intuitive practices are all guiding us into a more constructive, more transparent, more authentic world. This new world will see business practices aligned with intelligence, intuition, and especially innovation- and to that I say… it’s about time.
